What is Anniversaries?

Anniversaries is a SharePoint web part that helps you celebrate employee birthdays and work anniversaries directly on your intranet. It surfaces upcoming milestones in a clear, engaging format, helping teams stay connected and making recognition part of the everyday experience.

Where can I use it?

The web part can be added to any modern SharePoint Online page and is compatible with Viva Connections, allowing it to be accessed within Microsoft Teams.

What types of events can be displayed?

Anniversaries supports:
  • Birthdays
  • Work anniversaries
You can display these together or separately, depending on your configuration.

Is Anniversaries mobile-friendly?

Yes. Anniversaries is fully responsive and works across desktop browsers, tablets and mobile devices.

Configuration

How do I set it up?

The setup process follows the same simple logic as other Accelerator 365 apps.
Ensure the API permissions are approved by a Global Administrator, then add the Anniversaries to your SharePoint page. See the full Getting Started guide for detailed instructions.

What permissions are required for the app to function properly?

To see which specific permissions are required for the app to be fully functional, visit the Technical Details page.

Can I control which users are included?

Yes. You can apply filters to ensure only relevant users are shown, such as:
  • Active users only
  • Excluding leavers or disabled accounts
  • Filtering by user attributes
This helps maintain accurate and appropriate results.

Can I use multiple web parts on the same page?

Yes. You can add multiple instances of Anniversaries, each with its own independent configuration.

Editing

Can I control how many anniversaries are shown?

Yes. You can define how many items appear in each section (e.g. Today, Next 7 days, Later this month), helping keep the layout clean and relevant.

Can users filter for separate event types?

Yes. Users can filter to:

  • Show only birthdays

  • Show only work anniversaries

  • Display both together

Can I highlight milestone anniversaries?

Yes. You can configure how work anniversaries are displayed:

  • Show every year

  • Show milestone years only (using the default milestones or you can configure)

This allows recognition to align with company policies.

Appearance

Can I customize card appearance?

Yes. You can:

  • Choose card styles (Full or Compact)

  • Select or customize background themes

  • Enable or disable visual markers for event types

  • Upload custom backgrounds

Can I control what information appears on cards?

Yes. You can map profile fields to card subtitles, such as:

  • Job title

  • Department

If data is missing, the layout remains stable and uses fallbacks where needed.

Can I control which actions are available?

Yes, you can define what kind of quick actions are available. You can enable or disable:

  • Reactions

  • Teams chat

  • Email

This allows you to tailor the experience to your organization.

Technical

Where does the data come from?

Anniversaries retrieves data from either, or a combination of:

  • Microsoft Entra ID

  • Imported data sources

This ensures information is always current and automatically maintained.

How to import anniversaries using a CSV?

You can import anniversaries into the Anniversaries app using a CSV file. This allows you to quickly upload multiple birthdays and work anniversaries in one go using a structured template. See our guide for detailed instructions.

Licensing & Trial

Is there a free trial available?

Yes. A 60-day full-featured trial is available (learn more here).

What happens when the trial ends?

Once the trial expires, the app stops functioning until a valid license is applied; your configuration and data remain intact.
