How to configure and use the Anniversaries app by Accelerator 365
The Anniversaries web part helps you celebrate employee birthdays and work anniversaries directly within SharePoint. By surfacing upcoming milestones on your intranet, it makes recognition visible, encourages interaction, and strengthens workplace culture.

Configuring the web part for the first time
To add the Anniversaries web part:
- Select Edit on your SharePoint page
- Select + Add a new web part, then choose Anniversaries
Once added, the web part will prompt you to configure your data source and fetch anniversary data before displaying results.
Adding a new anniversaries container
Before configuring data, you need to define where anniversaries data is stored.
Steps to create or select a container:
- In the Setup panel, choose where to store your data:
- This site (recommended)
- Other site
- Under Select anniversaries, choose an existing container or create a new one
- To create a new container:
- Enter a name
- Confirm to create and save it
- Click Configure anniversaries data to continue
Configuring anniversaries data
The Anniversaries web part uses a 3-step setup to define data sources and import records.
Step 1: Anniversary setup
Choose where anniversaries come from and what to display:
- Select a data source (you can choose one or both):
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Manual CSV upload
- Choose anniversary types (you can select one or both):
- Birthdays
- Work anniversaries
- Click Next to continue

Step 2: Configure data sources
There are two ways to provide anniversary data:
Microsoft Entra ID
Use this option to automatically pull data from your organization’s directory.
- Select the appropriate fields:
- Birthday field (e.g. Birthday)
- Work anniversary field (e.g. Employee hire date)
- Under Which people to include, define filters and attributes
- Click Next to proceed

Manual CSV upload
Use this option if you want to import anniversary data manually from a file.
- Upload a CSV file containing your anniversary data
- Ensure the file follows the required format
- Click Next to proceed

Step 3: Fetch data
Import anniversary data into the web part:
- Review the Summary, including:
- Data source
- Selected anniversary types
- Field mappings
- Applied filters
- Click Fetch anniversaries data
This pulls the latest records into the web part based on your configuration.

Adjusting the layout and sections
You can control how anniversaries are grouped and displayed.
- Configure sections:
- Today
- Next 7 days
- Later
- Set the number of items per section
- Choose card type (Full or Compact) for each section
This helps keep the experience clear and focused.

Configuring cards and actions
You can customise how each anniversary card appears.
Steps to configure cards and actions:
- Open Cards options
- Configure:
- Card type (Full or Compact)
- Background styles or custom images
- Event indicators (birthday / anniversary)
- Subtitle fields (e.g. job title, department)
- Card Actions (Reactions, Chat, Email)
- Work anniversary display (every year / milestones only)
- Click Apply or Save



Note: attributes are sourced from Microsoft Entra ID and update automatically.
Managing behavior
You can control how the web part behaves based on user interaction and content availability.
Steps to manage behavior:
- In the property pane, go to Behavior
- Configure the following options:
- Show “See all” link
Toggle this on to display a link that opens the full All anniversaries view, allowing users to explore more events. - Hide web part when there are no events
Toggle this on to automatically hide the web part when no anniversaries are available. This helps keep your page clean and avoids empty states.
