What is Page Authors?
Page Authors is a web part that displays who last edited or updated a SharePoint page. It provides transparency for visitors while respecting permissions - meaning draft edits and unpublished changes remain private.
Where can I use it?
The web part is available for modern SharePoint Online pages and is compatible with Viva Connections, allowing it to be viewed inside Microsoft Teams.
Is it responsive / mobile-friendly?
Yes. The web part layout is responsive and optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Configuration
How do I set it up?
The setup process for Page Authors follows the same simple logic as other Accelerator 365 apps. Add the Page Authors web part to your SharePoint page and configure your preferred layout (Compact or Detailed). You can also define how many authors to display and whether to show additional version details - all directly within the web part’s configuration panel.
Editing
What layout options are available?
You can choose between two layout types:
- Compact: A space-saving design that displays essential information.
- Detailed: Includes additional context, such as timestamps.
Can I control how many authors are displayed?
Yes. You can configure how many recent editors appear in the list, keeping layouts clean and focused.
Does it exclude draft or unpublished versions?
Yes. Page Authors automatically filters out draft and unpublished versions, ensuring only visible content is displayed.
Will Page Authors work tenant-wide?
Yes. During deployment, select "Enable this app and add it to all sites " to make it available across your SharePoint tenant.
Licensing & Trial
Is there a free trial available?
Yes. A fully functional 60-day trial is available. Learn more here.
What happens when the trial ends?
After the 60-day trial expires, the web part will stop functioning until a valid license is applied. You’ll receive instructions on how to purchase and activate a license.
