General
What is Table of Contents?
Table of Contents is a SharePoint web part that automatically generates in-page navigation by reading heading elements (e.g. H2, H3, H4) from text web parts. It helps visitors quickly jump between sections on a page and maintain orientation while browsing long-form content.
The web part is available for modern SharePoint Online pages and is compatible with Viva Connections, allowing it to be viewed inside Microsoft Teams.
Is it responsive / mobile-friendly?
Yes. Table of Contents is fully responsive and displays well across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Configuration
The setup process follows the same simple logic as other Accelerator 365 apps.
Add the Table of Contents web part to your SharePoint page and it will automatically scan headings (e.g. H2, H3, H4) in text web parts and generate an in-page navigation menu.
Editing
Can I control which headings are included?
Yes. In the web part settings, you can choose which heading levels (e.g. H2, H3, H4) to include and whether to limit the scope to specific sections.
Can I add page section titles or web part titles into the Table of Contents?
Unfortunately, that functionality isn’t available right now. It’s something we want to add but are waiting for Microsoft to roll-out one or two updates ‘behind the scenes’ before we can reliably add this functionality to the feature set.
Is the table always up to date?
Yes. Table of Contents updates automatically - any changes to page headings are reflected instantly on page load.
What is the floating widget?
The floating widget keeps the table of contents visible as users scroll. It can also include a "Back to top" button for quick navigation.
Can I enable "Back to top" functionality in the Table of Contents?
Yes. The "Back to top" option can be enabled in the web part settings to help users return to the top of the page easily.
Licensing & Trial
Is there a free trial available?
Yes. A fully functional 60-day trial is available. Learn more here.
What happens when the trial ends?
After the 60-day trial expires, the web part will stop functioning until a valid license is applied. You’ll receive instructions on how to purchase and activate a license.
