      Required API permissions

      The following Microsoft Graph API permissions are required:

      Scope Purpose
      User.Read Read the profile and group membership of the signed-in user.
      GroupMember.ReadWrite.All Read and write group memberships to update the signed-in user's subscription preference.
      Files.ReadWrite Read and write to a user's files. A file is created in the user's OneDrive by Audience Subscription to align with subscription rules set in the web part.


      These permissions are delegated and organisation-wide and require approval by a user with the Global Administrator role after the app has been deployed.

      Recommended deployment scope

      It is expected that the Audience Subscription app is made available only on specific areas of your SharePoint tenant as necessary, e.g., a home site or news site.

      Therefore, it is recommended to select the Only enable this app option on deployment (see the Installation instructions page). This means the app is available for Site Owners to manually add to their site.
