General

What is Countdown Calendar?

Countdown Calendar is a SharePoint web part that lets you display daily communications as you ‘countdown’ to an upcoming date or event. Whether you're promoting a launch, communicating a deadline, or highlighting a milestone, the Countdown Calendar helps keep your users informed and engaged with a clear, real-time countdown.

Where can I use it?

The Countdown Calendar web part is available for modern SharePoint Online pages and is compatible with Viva Connections, allowing it to be viewed inside Microsoft Teams.

Is the Countdown Calendar responsive / mobile-friendly?

Yes. The web part automatically adapts to desktop, tablet, and mobile devices to ensure your countdown displays clearly across all screen sizes.

Configuration

How do I set it up?

The setup process follows the same simple logic as other Accelerator 365 apps.
Add the Countdown Calendar web part to your SharePoint page, then configure the target date and time directly from the web part properties panel. Enter an event title, choose your preferred layout, and adjust appearance options - all using the standard SharePoint editing interface. Once you publish the page, the countdown content will be available according to the date settings you have configured.

Editing

Can I use multiple Countdown Calendar web parts on a single page?

Yes. You can add as many Countdown Calendar web parts as needed, each configured with its own event and settings.

Can I edit the countdown after publishing?

Absolutely. You can update the date, wording, or appearance at any time by editing the page and opening the web part's settings panel.

How do I reset doors in the Countdown Calendar app?

If a user needs their doors reset, you can do this through the app’s background SharePoint list.

  1. Navigate to the app’s data storage list
Go to the following URL, replacing the items in bold with your own tenant and site details:
    https://[SharePointDomain].sharepoint.com/sites/[SiteName]/Lists/ACC365CDC_OpenedDoors/AllItems.aspx
  2. Locate the user’s entry
The list contains one item per user, per app. Each item records the doors that user has opened.
  3. Delete the user’s item
Select the entry for the user whose doors you want to reset and delete it from the list.
  4. Refresh the page
Return to the page where the app is used and refresh. The user’s doors will now be fully reset.

Appearance

What layout or styling options are available?

The Countdown Calendar offers flexible layout and appearance controls so you can tailor the experience to your page design and campaign needs. You can add up to 10 rows and 10 columns, meaning the calendar can have a maximum of 100 doors.

What are the available door display options?

You can customize how each door appears, including:

  • Door shape (e.g. square or circular)
  • Door numbers – toggle visibility on or off
  • Door number size, color, and alignment (horizontal and vertical)
  • Opened door icon – enable or disable
  • Door outline – toggle on or off and select a custom outline color

Can I add imagery or icons to the countdown calendar?

Yes. You can enhance the visual design of your Countdown Calendar by:

  • Adding a custom background image behind the grid
  • Displaying an icon for opened doors
  • Using color and outline styling to visually distinguish doors and states

Licensing & Trial

Is there a free trial available?

Yes – Countdown Calendar includes a fully functional 60-day trial, giving you time to test it across pages and scenarios. Learn more here.

What happens when the trial ends?

After the 60-day trial, the web part will stop functioning until a valid license is applied. Nothing on your page is deleted - simply add a license to continue using the app. We provide guidance on how to purchase or activate a license.
