What are the background image dimensions for the Page Tour?

Background image dimensions will vary depending on the SharePoint section Page Tour is placed in. You can find the appropriate dimensions below:

    How do I reset the Page Tour for an individual user?

    If a user has previously dismissed or completed the Page Tour but needs to see it again, you can reset the tour for specific users.

    1. Edit the page that contains the Page Tour web part.

    2. Open the web part property pane and locate the Reset Page Tour option.

    3. Click the Reset dropdown arrow and select Specific users.

    4. A panel will appear where you can enter the users whose tour progress you want to reset. Enter the names or email addresses of the users (up to 50 users at a time).

    5. Confirm the users you'd like to reset for and then republish the page.

    The next time those users visit the page, the Page Tour will appear again as if they are seeing it for the first time.

    Tip: If you want everyone to see the tour again, you can instead select All users from the same dropdown.

    Can I automatically launch the Page Tour for users?

    Yes. There are two ways you can automatically launch the Page Tour for users.

    Option 1: Open the Page Tour on first visit

    The Page Tour includes a setting called “Open Page Tour on first visit.”

    When this setting is enabled, the Page Tour will automatically open the first time a user visits the page. After the tour has been completed or dismissed, it will not automatically appear again for that user.

    This option is useful when introducing a new intranet page or feature and you want to guide users through the page the first time they visit.

    Option 2: Launch the Page Tour using a URL parameter

    You can also trigger the Page Tour to open by adding the following parameter to the end of the page URL:

    #OpenPageTour

    For example (modify the bold text):

    https://yourtenant.sharepoint.com/sites/yoursite#OpenPageTour

    When a user opens the page using this URL, the Page Tour will automatically start.

    This approach is useful if you want to provide a “Retake the tour” link in places such as navigation, a page footer, or internal communications so users can easily revisit the tour whenever they need a refresher.
