Frequently asked questions for the Site Analytics app by Accelerator 365
Configuration
The Site Analytics configuration panel shows an 'Upgrade' button. Do I need to upgrade?
If you've already configured the Site Analytics app, upgrading is optional - tracking with Google Analytics will continue as usual.
However, we recommend upgrading to take advantage of tracking enhancements and future-proofing improvements. To proceed, follow our updated configuration guide for the new setup, then click Upgrade in the Site Analytics panel.
Can I track user properties from Microsoft profiles in Google Analytics?
Yes, the Site Analytics app can send user profile properties as events to Google Analytics, allowing you to filter and report on this data.
Configuration is required in both Site Analytics and Google Analytics. Refer to our 'How to configure Site Analytics with user profile properties' guide for setup instructions.
Can I track different SharePoint sites under separate Google tracking IDs?
Yes, you can track SharePoint sites using different containers in Google Tag Manager.
To do this, use the Overrides feature in the Site Analytics app. See our 'How to configure Site Analytics with multiple tracking IDs' guide for details
What does the 'Use custom GTM configuration' setting do in the Site Analytics property pane?
This setting allows you to use your own Google Tag Manager configuration instead of the default Accelerator 365 implementation. It’s useful for advanced tracking setups, such as when you need specific tags, triggers, or variables beyond the items the Accelerator 365 container template creates.
By default, this setting is disabled and should remain so if you are following the standard Accelerator 365 configuration steps.
