What is Spotlight?
Spotlight is a SharePoint web part that allows content authors to display a prominent call to action (CTA) on a page. You can include an image, title, description, and link to draw attention to key information or announcements. A key differentiator over the out of the box web parts is that a user can dismiss a Spotlight after reading.
Where can I use it?
The web part is available for modern SharePoint Online pages and is compatible with Viva Connections, allowing it to be viewed directly inside Microsoft Teams.
Is it responsive / mobile-friendly?
Yes. Spotlight is fully responsive and works seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Configuration
How do I set it up?
The setup process follows the same simple logic as other Accelerator 365 apps.
Add the Spotlight web part to your SharePoint page. From there, you can configure your image, title, description, and link, and then publish your page.

What content can I include in Spotlight?
You can configure an image, title, description, and link for your Spotlight call to action.
Can users dismiss the Spotlight?
Yes. Users can dismiss the Spotlight after interacting with it. Dismissals are remembered across sessions and devices. Content authors can also disable dismissal to ensure the message always remains visible.
Are there layout or styling options available?
Yes. Spotlight offers multiple layout options and styling controls, allowing you to choose the presentation that best fits your page design. Check the details of the available layout options in the Appearance section
Does Spotlight support audience targeting?
Yes. Spotlight supports SharePoint audience targeting, it works independently of the Microsoft Graph API for improved reliability.
Can I add multiple Spotlight web parts to a page?
Yes. Spotlight is reusable and can be added in multiple locations across a page or site.

Is there a free trial available?
Yes. A fully functional 60-day trial is available. Learn more here.
What happens when the trial ends?
After the 60-day trial expires, the web part will stop functioning until a valid license is applied. You’ll receive instructions on how to purchase and activate a license.
