      Release notes for the Spotlight app by Accelerator 365

      These release notes provide information relating to updates and new features for the Spotlight app.

      February 19, 2024 (version 1.18.0.4)

      • Core update: This release updates the core Microsoft library from SPFx 1.14 to 1.18.
      • Product information: Added links to the Accelerator 365 knowledge base and app version information into the web part properties.
      • Banner layout: Adjustments to the paddings applied in the banner layout to allow for greater text visibility, particularly when used in small sections and on mobile.
      • UI updates: Various UI updates to align with the new style guidelines from SharePoint.
      • Language support for French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Romanian, and Spanish.

      • Gradient control: This feature allows editors to enable and disable the gradient applied to a Spotlight image.

      • Dark theme support:  Squished a bug related to text legibility on Spotlight when using a dark SharePoint site theme.
      • Image picker fix: Squished a bug related to selecting an image from the 'Your organisation' tab if no organisation assets library exists.
      • Audience targeting: Squished a bug related to reading a user with many group memberships.

      • Stability and performance improvements: Numerous updates and improvements to the core functionality to improve performance.
      • Licensing screens: This update addresses minor labelling and styling updates to the licensing screens and dialogs.

      • Site sharing fix: Squished a bug related to a conflict with the Microsoft site sharing functionality.

      • Advanced image editor: Squished a bug related to the image zoom / focal point controls causing a link specified in Spotlight to open instead of their actual function.

      • Image picker dependency: This feature introduces a replacement for the image picker functionality to improve stability / remove a dependency on a control Microsoft are prone to update.
      • Licensing screens: This update includes improvements to the trial licensing screens and related process.

      • Initial release: The initial release of the Spotlight into the SharePoint Store.
