Rollback an app update
Step-by-step guide to rolling back an update to an Accelerator 365 app in SharePoint.
Note: the SharePoint Administrator role is required for updating an app.
Step 1: Open SharePoint Admin Center
- Navigate to the SharePoint Admin Center, and sign in with an account that has SharePoint Administrator permissions for your organization.
- Select More features on the left-hand panel.
- Under Apps, select Open to open the Manage Apps section.
Step 2: Restore a previous version
-
Select the Accelerator 365 app that requires rolling back.
-
Click on the ellipsis (...) in the command bar, then select Version history.

-
A window will appear showing the previous versions of the app. Locate the version you want to restore and hover over its Modified date. Click the dropdown and select Restore.
-
Click OK to confirm and replace the current version with the selected version.
Step 3: Push the rollback across your environment
The rollback may take some time to propagate across your SharePoint environment. To speed this up, you can try pushing the rollback using the classic experience of the app catalog.
-
Go to the classic experience of the app catalog, linked at the top under the Manage Apps heading.
- Select the Accelerator 365 app that has been rolled back. Take note of how the app has been deployed according to the Add to all sites column.
- Yes - The app has been installed on all SharePoint sites in the tenant by default.
- No - The app has been enabled but not installed on all SharePoint sites in the tenant.
- In the Files tab in the SharePoint ribbon, select the option for Deploy.
-
In the pop-up window, check or uncheck the box to Make this solution available to all sites in the organization, matching how the app was originally deployed.
-
Click Deploy to push the rollback.
