What is Accordion?

Accordion is a flexible, component-based web part designed for SharePoint that allows you to present information in a collapsible, easy-to-navigate format. It helps users structure long or complex content into expandable sections, improving readability and reducing page clutter.

Can I view Accordion content on a mobile device?

Yes. Accordion is fully responsive and works across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Content automatically adapts to the available screen size to ensure a smooth browsing experience.

Is Accordion content searchable?

Yes, even when sections are collapsed, the text inside an Accordion is still picked up by Microsoft Search, so everything you add remains searchable. You can also enable the Accordion’s built-in search box, which lets users quickly find items within the Accordion itself.

Can I add the Accordion to more than one page or site?

Yes, you can use Accordions on as many pages as you like. Just add the web part wherever you need it - there’s no limit on how many times you can use it.

How many Accordions can I have on a page?

There’s no hard limit, but it’s worth keeping in mind that Microsoft suggests keeping it to around 20 web parts per page to help everything run smoothly.

How many sections can I have?

There is no limit to the number of sections you can create in an Accordion.

What is the maximum character length for section titles?

Each section title can include up to 200 characters, giving you plenty of room to describe the content clearly.

Can I change the color of the Accordion sections?

The section color is pulled automatically from the main theme color, making it easy to customize the web part to your organization's branding guidelines. Alternatively, in the editing pane, you can manually select a color for the section from the available theme colors or standard colors.

Can I format the text in the Accordion?

Yes, Accordion supports rich text, so you can format your content however you need. You can use different font sizes, colors, headings, lists, pull quotes, and more. There are 25 color options available for text and highlights, plus alignment and sizing controls. The Accordion web part is designed to be flexible, so it works with whatever style your organization uses for its content.
